He managed military assistance to war-torn Central American republics in a tumultuous period. Because of the quality of his work, he was selected for the highly competitive George Marshall Exchange Program and served in the Department of State as political military advisor for the assistant secretary of East Asia Pacific Affairs, at the time Paul Wolfowitz. After leaving the Army he has been a vice president for General Electric Aerospace based in Seoul and as the executive director of the Korea Society, a non-profit organization in Manhattan, rescued that organization from oblivion.             As a result, Gordon brings a rare depth and breath of knowledge to his audiences.

Gordon has spoken successfully before groups in Houston, Memphis, Burlington, and Boston including civic associations, universities, active military institutions, veterans groups, chambers of commerce, and local organizations. He has lectured at the Army War College, the Army Command & Staff College, the Navy War College and before CEO clusters at some of the top Fortune 50 companies including Union Carbide, United Technologies, Met Life, Phillips Petroleum, Exxon-Mobile and many others. Gordon writes a weekly opinion column called The Right Approach that is available in print and electronically and reaches a wide audience. Gordon also writes fiction and has a manuscript for the first of an historical novel series called Phoenix Rising in review for sale.
